Always go with your gut instinct. I've learned in the past that if the question of whether or not I should take a dog to the vet ever popped into my head, I always ended up taking them to the vet and being very glad I did.
As a rule of thumb if your dog shows new symptoms (especially if they are already sick) you should always call your vet and try to bring the dog in.
