Can you post the recipe? That way I can see if there are other spices that the curry mixture would contain already added. Otherwise, I would go with a madras or spicy curry powder mixture.
Also, Maybe Msyorktown will see this. She can tell you what would be used traditionally in Jamaican cooking.
