I would start with YTCA as was suggested. There are some very good breeder in NY state listed there. But remember if you are emailing them or phoning that with weekends coming up many are on their way to shows or at shows. If you don't hear back later Monday try again. You can also ask if they can refer you to someone if they don't have anything available.
Also, buying from a show breeder, people think sometimes they only sell show dogs. Actually they have lovely pets that they have decided is just not what they want for the show rings so are sold under nonbreeding contracts or already spayed/neutered depending on the age of the puppy.
Sometimes to buy from a good breeder you have to wait. If you go through the interview process and be asked to be put on a waiting list, that can work. Reputable breeders don't breed volume hence sometimes the wait until something is available.
