When I saw your previous post turn a little bit sour, I stopped commenting.
I know I might be a bit bias, but I think there is nothing wrong with holding her when she cries. I think the first few days and weeks are for bonding, rules and boundaries will come later!
But then again maybe I'm not the best person to advise on this as I baby Ziggy alot!
About the chewing, I would gently remove whatever she is chewing on, say No, and replace that with an appropriate chew toy.
