I don't think I would spay her at 6 months. I have always tried to do it before the first heat cycle on bigger dogs but with these little ones it is much better to wait until they are more mature. Since Yorkies tend to retain baby teeth you can have any baby teeth removed later when she is spayed.

My Maltese puppy got a uterine infection during her first heat and it was very serious so I have always felt strongly about this but really with a tiny dog it is more important to wait. Of course if she goes into heat you need to watch her carefully, keep her inside and monitor her behavior. Polymetra is a concern but as long as you are watching her carefully through one cycle you should be fine.
