Our surgeon told us that a the biggest area that would be allowed was a 3 x 3 area. I closed up Hot Rod's pen accordingly but he had started to stand on his hinds with his front paws on the sides to try and get at us so that didn't work for us. I wound up putting his crate on the table next to me on the sofa. That was pitiful so I wound up laying him on a blanket, put his harness on him, attached a neck lanyard to him and wrapped it around my wrist so I could catch him if he got up or tried to get off.

This worked better for us and when I was more comfortable with holding him, I let him lay on a pillow next to me on the sofa with the harness set up.

Glad that Layla is progressing and healing.
