I got what's called a B.O.B. trailer for my mountain bike and have tried my dogs in it from time to time. The problem is, it's uncovered. I strap them in on a short leash, but I still worry that they might try to leap off the side while I'm riding. So I don't use it anymore. I think a covered trailer would be perfect.

I can't tell from the picture, but would a plastic crate fit on that trailer...or could you adapt one to fit? That way they would have a little more protection and you wouldn't have to worry about them jumping off.
