Default yorkie will not use potty pads

Hello Yorkie lovers,

I recently adopted a 3 yr old male Yorkie. He is precious and
brings me a lot of joy.

When I first got him, he used his potty pads when I had to go to work. Then when I came home, the first thing that I would do would be to take him out to potty. He was real good for about 3 weeks. Now for reason that I do not know or understand, he is voiding all over the house. I have caught him sleeping now on the potty pads. I bought a child-guard gate and hooked it up to one of the doors in the bigger bathroom. I have placed the potty pad on one end of the bathroom and have put his food and water on the other end of the room which is about 8'.

He is large for his size, or for a yorkie, and he managed to knock down the gate and once again proceeded to pee everywhere. There is furniture in my house that I haven't used
much, and he has now peed on it and it is ruined.

Please help me. Please give me some advice. I love this little guy and I don't want to get rid of him. I give him lots of love and we go for walks and we play together with his toys. He has ruined my love seat and my recliner. I don't know what to do.
Thanks,
Sarah
