Been there and done that. It has happened at least once with both of my furbabies. That is why I am extra careful now when I leave out of the garage. I never open the garage door until I'm sure no one followed me out and even then I pulled out very slowly.
This just happened with my cat (she's an indoor cat), if she hadn't meow I would of ran her over or she would of gotten out. Mind you except for the occassional visit to the vet, she hasn't been outside in 13 yrs.
