I wouldn't breed my baby now, but didn't intend to anyway.

My vet gave me a very reasonable price to do all the surgeries though.

Any recommendations for pet insurance? I've been looking into it. Deciding between Trupanion and Pet Plan. I know her hernia surgery won't be covered, but would like to insure her in case of other future issues.

I'm so sorry her hernia came back darnlora! But at least it wasn't immediate, couple of years later right? Did the vet say why it might have returned?
From Pet Plan: All surgery deemed medically necessary by a licensed veterinarian, including all hip and CCL surgical techniques, are covered by Petplan.

The breeder sounds like an unethical greeder back yard breeder! How can she not acknowledge the genetic fault in her line that causes pain to the fur babies which needs major surgery?! The male has the genetic fault also (carries the recessive gene), so these two (the mom & dad of your fur baby) cannot be bred! They both need to be altered!
