Blue makes a grain free called Wilderness. If he clears up, then I would leave him off the grain forever. Many times it's the corn that they are allergic to. My poor Lola use to stink something awful. That poor baby had so many baths that she hates them to this day. It will take a couple of weeks for the grain free to kick in, as the yeast dies in his gut, but the smell should get less and less. Lola (white Shih Tzu rescue) had the red/brown stains around her mouth, all down her eyes, her paws and her genitals. That kind of staining is much harder to see on Yorkies because of their fur color. Now the rescue I work with lets me foster their white dogs because I can get them nice and white again, and that helps them find forever homes. IMHO, you sure don't have anything to lose by trying it.
