I bet that breaks your heart. I remember my yorkie going to the front door every not wanting to sleep with me. He wanted to sleep on the rug by the front door. I thought he didn't like me anymore. LOL He eventually got over what ever it was and started sleeping on the bed. But if he's growling and snapping, maybe he's uncomfortable and it's making him irritated or not wanting to be touched or held. I think to be on the safe side you may want to ask your vet. Hopefully it's only a stage. Good luck.
