Toki used to have the occasional early morning yak where it was thin, yellow, and clear. I think it was from having an empty stomach. I just made sure that she ate breakfast when I woke up and gave her a later dinner so that her stomach wasn't completely empty for so long. We haven't had this issue since I started doing that.
You might want to still consult with your vet, especially if there are other symptoms.
