He goes with me to my own business, where he meets people who come to deliver things and also my employees who work there. I take him next door to visit 5 of my 14 grandchildren and he loves it! I am extremely careful, as the children could accidentally step on Kipper. So far, nothing has happened and both the children and Kipper are learning to be careful with each other. I do not want a snappy, unsocial little guy like I had with my sweet mini schnauzer (died of Addison's disease at age 11 1/2 years old). I want Kipper to be calm in many different surroundings and with many types of people. I have introduced him to our border collie, Lexi, who stays with our alpacas and geese to protect them. Because of the size difference, I did not let them play together, but they are both friendly with each other. I also introduced Kipper to the alpacas, curious creatures that they are. Kipper scared them! He was so happy, tearing after them until I called him back (good boy, Kipper!). He does play with our 29# mini schnauzer and has yelped a couple of times, but was scared and not hurt. They are playing better together all the time, but never unattended. I am not sure I would ever leave them together unless Kipper gets much bigger than his present 2.9#.
I hope you can overcome your fear and let your puppy enjoy those you love and meet each day, within reason. When I do have to leave my dear baby home alone, all I can think about is returning home to him. However, when I first get home, I do not rush to his crate to let him out. I wait until I have been home for a few minutes and make him sit and be quiet before I let him out to see me. His crate is large enough for him to have a separate bed and then a spot with a pee pad, as well as food and water. He is really an amazing and wonderful little guy and I love him dearly! Remember that our little Yorkies are probably happiest when we are totally calm and happy. So do what makes you happy and fits in with your personality and it will all work out (understanding that you will be reasonably protecting your little one from potential harm). I wish you the best!

I take Ahi everywhere with me! And I mean EVERYWHERE. She has even seen a bunch of movies recently. LOL Her favorite was Magic Mike. LOL. Although if I have to leave her home for some reason...I don't think i'll have a problem with it.

She even has attended church. When I asked for permission they said "why not, even dogs are Gods creatures". She was such a good girl...but I think she thought it was boring...she slept through the whole sermon. hehe

btw...love the name Kipper! My daughter is always singing the theme song....and now it's stuck in my head. LOL
