You have to decide if this is how you can live your life for the life of your yorkie. Personally I could not become a hermit. You either have to start taking the pup with you or leaving the pup home alone for a time. I do both with mine. Bentley goes everywhere with me that is feasable. I also have a slightly larger yorkiepoo and they are together when I leave them home. Bentley goes with me to the homes of friends and family all the time. Many places there are other animals and children. You just have to introduce them to the animals carefully and watching like a hawk until you know what will happen. Keep your pup harnessed and leashed so that you can lift out of any situation quickly. We all think of these Yorkies as children and if we look at them in that way then we also have to say that to keep a child locked up and separated from society is unfair. More than that it is unfair to yourself to stay reclusive. You can do it!
