Other than the fact that they did not respond to you right away what info did you obtain that this is a scam? I know it is an unusually low price but if they really do want good homes then there is a chance they are real.
Just send them info that you are a previous Yorkie owner that is heartbroken at the loss of your pet and looking for a new Yorkie to love. Tell them general things about how you take wonderful care of your pets, etc. but don't tell them where you live or any exact info and see what you get back. Of course tell them that you would love to see the puppies in a public location along with your "husband" or some other person you would bring with you so you warn them that you will not be alone.
Don't get your hopes up to a high level but it would be interesting to see what they say. They can't trace you through the craigslist email address.
