Default Experiences with Bilateral Inguinal Hernia in Puppy

Hi,

I just got my first Yorkie puppy a little over a month ago. I am in absolute love! She was diagnosed yesterday with a Bilateral Inguinal hernia. I noticed a lump on her stomach and took her to the vet. It was undetectable at her puppy exam, but the vet said she was more than likely born with it.

I was told it could be repaired surgerically at her time of spay. The vet would like her to be at least 4LBS. She is 31/2 months and 3LBS- so we have to wait to bit, the hernia is not causing her any issues right now.

My concern is reoccurence of the hernia. Has anyone experienced this with their baby? Have they reoccured? All experiences welcomed!

I've done a lot of reading up on it. I am not returning her or getting rid of her. I would exasperate all my resources for her if I had to, but I'd like to know what to expect after it is repaired.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
