Will shelters accept food samples? I have a big grocery bag full of dog food samples (Artemis, Canidae, California Natural, EVO, etc) that I got from different stores and that companies have sent me to try. I've settled on a food for Toki and we're definitely not going to get through these bags so I'm not sure what to do with them... even though I didn't pay for these samples, I don't want to just throw them out.
I'm not really sure how shelters handle feeding the dogs there...I imagine they would ideally like to not be switching foods constantly (probably impossible since they depend largely on donations from many sources). These samples are such a mish mash and aren't even going to be enough for a meal for any dog over 15 pounds.
Do your local shelters accept samples or just full-sized, unopened bags and cans? |
