Yes, I think tha's a good idea. This way you can see if bringing Mikki up at all would be a good idea or not. I know you want to express your love for Mikki. Ziggy came from a BYB (I didn't know at the time) When he turned a year old, I did get the urge to let her know how Ziggy is doing. But her silence the last year and ofcourse her bad breeding practises spoke volumes. So I didn't. Even though its a different situation, I do understand the feelings you're having.
You'll make the right decision though, so don't stress about it
