Some of the less helpful food companies add flavoring and even sometimes sugar to their foods in order to get the pets to eat the food even though is is actually stuffed full of unhealthy ingredients. That is why many people have trouble getting their pets to switch to the healthier pet foods. The dog gets addicted to the flavoring in the cheap stuff. I'm glad your guy decided to eat for you.
