I had a dog in the hospital last month who ate peepee pad. She was very sick and we thought she would have to have surgery. It was an expensive lesson to learn but we now use only washable pads. It seems expensive to buy them but then if you figure what you spend on disposable over a period of time, it really isn't.

We have 6 toy dogs and 4 don't go out to potty (no fenced yard and they are very small). The other 2 use pads and go out both. I put down 2 clean large pads in the morning and they last ok till the next morning. We have 12 pads so we only use each set about once a week. They say they are good for about 300 washings. We will see how it goes.
