Well, how old is your baby and what kind of comb are you using? I usually use a couple of different sized grooming combs. A small 4" comb for face and legs and a 6" comb for the body.
toplinepet.com for example. I only brush after all tangles are gone. It is less painful that way to your pet. Do a little combing everyday if she needs it or not. That way she will learn that this is a daily even and will eventually accept it if you make it as quick and painless as possible.

I don't know how big your pup is. I bathe mine in the kitchen sink. I used to just pour water from a cup to wet her down but now I use this:
Rinse Ace 3-Way Pet Faucet Sprayer at PETCO
It has 3 different spray strengths and has made bath time much quicker.
Just make your grooming sessions short and keeping her tangle free will make it more enjoyable for you both.
