I agree that a better quality food probably will save you in vet bills. Many of the average foods actually have forms of sugar in them that encourages the dog to eat ingredients that are not natural for them to want, however, the corn and different forms of glucose help to destroy the teeth. Always check your ingredient list. If the ingredients seem strange for a dog to eat or if there are things that you cannot identify in the food then probably you are dealing with a bad company. Sadly, pets are a multi million dollar industry in this country and many pet lovers are being duped by these money hungry companies. Some ingredient lists start out looking good and then all you see are snythetic vitamins on the list! Most dogs in this country are existing on three times baked kibble that has no real nutritional value except the synthetic vitamins.
I would not be casual about food recalls. There have been many beloved pets that have died due to these bad foods. Just a couple of years ago many dogs died because those major pet food companies were adding an ingredient that came from China as a filler. Come to find out it was a powdered form of plastic! Now come on! What responsibel company relys on China to provide fillers?

For that matter what responsible company
needs fillers?
