I was going to post this earlier this week but been busy taking care of my sick Josie who is much better today.

On Saturday evening the 30th I had ran some errands and on my way home stopped at the local grocery store to get some more chicken to cook for Josie, trying to get her back to normal.

Since I was only running in for that I told the BF to just let me off at the door I would only be a minute. When I come out he was not parked where I assumed he would be so I was walking through the parking lot looking for him. As I am looking around I hear a dog barking. I was thinking surely no one has left a dog alone in this 92 degree heat. And this was at 8pm also. I found the barking poodle in a car with the windows slightly down and the dog panting and barking. I stuck my hand in the car and he was not hot just getting warm. So I find my ride and threw the chicken in my car and said come over here I am going to call the law. He follows me through the parking lot and I am talking to the dog and waiting for someone to come out. No one did so I got my cell phone out. Took a picture of the tag and started to call 911. My BF says why not just go in and have the person paged. Okay I'll do that first. (should have called 911)

So I go in the out door and as I pass the 2-registers open I ask the people at the check out if anyone owns this car. A young girl (maybe mid 20's) says I do. I said very loudly do you know you have left your dog in the car? And do you know how hot it is outside? She seemed very apologetic and we were walking out as I was scolding her pretty badly. Behind her comes the Mother I am assuming saying no dont call the law we can take care of tis now. It's okay. Behind the MOther comes another sibling cusing me out. What business is it of yours is the first she ask? With a few expletive words. I told her it was my business when I seen and heard the dog barking in the 100 degree car. As the Mother and young ddaughter and I keep walking and me telling the younger one how dangerous it is to leave the dog in the car and how she could go to jail if I called the law, Ms mouth walking behind us yells out "ITS ONLY A DOG"

OMG when she said that I lost it. I was in her face, the mother was pulling her off and trying to get her in car and my BF was pulling me to the car.
I was so mad I was shaking. Other people around were cussing at the big mouth girl and Mom was trying really bad to get out of there.

I may have been a little too rough on the younger girl, it just ticks me off so bad how people treat animals and especially their so called pets. There were three of them and they did not have but a few items, why couldn't one of them stayed with the dog and left the A/C on.

What is your opinion? And what would you have done?
