Greetings Lisa and your Furwhopper Laney !

This is a GREAT Forum, nice knowledgeable people, who will go out of their way to help in any way they can.

HA..snatcher... sounds normal to me. My two guys do that too, but they just hold on to "whatever" in exchange for a piece of Cheese Treat, before they give it up.

Remember, you got a Yorkie, and they were bread to be stubborn, and much of the time, recalls are difficult with them.

Do I hear "no back yard fence" ?
Some do what is called a "Run", where they have a Cable run overhead, between the house and a Tree in the back yard. Install a Roller Pulley with a leash on it, and it keeps our escape artists within a given space between the house and the tree. You might try that.
(keep in mind that using a Harness to restrain a Yorkie is recommended)

Also, we have a Teapot Club which you might enjoy Laney being a member of. You can see that at...
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...apot-club.html
and there is a informal application outline which you may follow at...

Welcome again !
S.W.
