My Breeder advised me it might be best to get a male since I had a female already, and that made sense to me. I had always had one male and one female. My male chihuahua let Lexi dominate him and he was there a year before her, she would walk up to whatever bed he was in and growl and he woud get up and let her have the bed, we scolded her so much for doing it that all she would do was walk up and give him the stink eye and he would get up and let her have it! Maybe I need to take concretegurl's advice and always make sure I greet, feed, and pet Lexi first, because apparently when I get a new one, they think they are the pack leader, so maybe I need to be more careful of this and things might go better this time around. My husband says it is Lexi's payback for bossing our Tito (RIP) around for all those years, and he thinks it is quite funny! So don't be hard on yourself for getting 2 female, because male/female also has its problems!
