Blue Buffalo is made at like a gazillion different manufacturers. They killed some dogs with Vitamin K (I think) over-dose. Champion Pet Foods killed cats over in Australia due to the radiation or something. Royal Canin recalled a few prescription foods during the big 2007 recall. Nature's Variety voluntarily recalled a batch for possible salmonella poisoning.
You are going to find an issue with almost every company. It's a matter of finding who you trust the most as a company, how they handled the recalls, how your dog does on their food, etc. At this point in time, we find Acana works for best for us. Every time we try something new ... we end up going back to Acana.
I like Fromm the best actually. As a company mostly. They are still a small family owned business after over 100 years, they have never had a recall or any kind of FDA warning, their customer service is superb, unfortunately my dog doesn't do well on their foods. He gets gassy, itchy, and runny eyes. So even though they are my fav company, I can't feed their foods.
With that said, I'd never feed anything from Diamond again. As far issues go, they seem to have the most, and never seem to learn from their past mistakes. I don't really like Blue Buffalo much to be honest though. There's so few brands I'd feed these days but I am picky when it comes to my dogs health ... |
