It had never occured to me this was an issue!!! I got rid of my comfy rocker recliners and got these wing back things that the foot can beraised on...but you can see under the chair, and can see the mechanism easily.....not NEAR as comfortable as my rocker-recliner but it elevates my feet and that is what I need......i dont think I would ever get that out of my mind....
