I am so sorry that you could not get this puppy due to your little one's reaction. I had the same problem with my last Yorkie, Jilly. I loved Jilly so much I thought two little girls would be even more fun. So I took my time and got a wonderful little teddy bear of a Yorkie girl who Jilly loved at first - until the puppy grew to be larger & stronger than Jilly & could push her around. Jilly hated that! She began to fuss & snarl & bare her teeth at Teddy when she came near her & finally just retreated to the top of the back of the couch in the den where she stayed all the time Teddy was not out pottying or playing! She wouldn't eat much of anything, lost considerable weight, lost coat, kept her ears back & her tail down, stopped playing with any of her toys, chewed nervously on her ankles & paws, & generally stopped living life until finally, 9 weeks into having Teddy, I had to rehome her. It just broke my heart.

Teddy was a beautiful, sturdy, healthy little doll of a Yorkshire Terrier with a lovely head & body. She moved like a dream even as a 6 month old & was already so athletic. She was darn near perfection! And what a little lover she was! It broke my heart to have to give her up - but I would have done anything to get my little Jilly out of her depression and see her happy once again. I found out about a wonderful couple who wanted an older puppy and they were delighted to have the chance to get an already housebroken, trained, beautiful little girl with her whole life ahead of her.

The MOMENT Teddy went out the door with her happy mommie & daddy, Jilly came down from the couch & resumed our life together, happy once again. Her world was back to normal. She never looked for Teddy or acted like she even knew what I was talking about when I would mention Teddy to her - ask her if she missed Teddy or where Teddy was - just stare back at me with a stoney look in her eye.

I should have known better because Jilly never liked other dogs but I thought once Teddy had been here a while, she would warm to her & begin to love her. Instead, it almost killed Jilly because she was pining for her old life with me & just refused to change her ways. So Jilly lived out the rest of her years here with me happy as a clam and never looked back. And neither did I once I saw Jilly's turnaround. As long as Jilly was happy, so was I.

Maybe your girl will let you try again one day. I never had the heart to try for another as I didn't want to take the chance of getting my hopes up all over again & besides, Jilly was enough. Anything for Jilly.
