I just say, you know, one of these mornings when they're barking at the shadow a tree makes on the window in the moonlight for the 12th time, I might want to take you up on that offer. May I have your number? You won't mind a call in the wee hours, or driving over to get them at that hour, will you? Then I laugh...they don't know if I'm serious or not, but it shuts them up and they laugh, too.
Of course, mine DO recognize the shadow a tree makes on the window in the moonlight...well, NOW they do anyway...lol...and I'd NEVER DREAM of letting anyone take MY babies.
I do believe it's a compliment, but a cliche one people say without thinking about seriously.
