And you have to be unselfish, which is the hardest thing to do. You want to keep your doggie with you, you want to give love to your doggie. Our doggies rely on us to take care of them. And knowing when to send them on to the Rainbow Bridge is one of the things they trust us to know. I consider sending them on to Heaven to be the last act of kindness you can show your dog. It hurts so much and is so hard, it makes you want to die with them. But they trust us and rely on us and we can't let them down by keeping them alive when their life is only pain and discomfort and inconvenience. One other weird thing I do is, if I have the chance, I talk to the sick doggie about what I'm doing and I tell them about Heaven. You know how they listen to us... Maybe I'm just doing that for me, but I would swear they do hear and know. I pray for you as you make this decision. Stay strong!!
Thank you for your prayers. I think our biggest issue is Coco isn't in pain aside from the UTI that she takes meds for. She doesn't wimper or whine and will walk just needs help to get up and then she is fine. If she does whine it's to go outside or she is ready to eat (still has a very hearty appetite).
