You will be nervous no matter what, so just know that it is normal and try to keep busy as you wait for post surgery call from the vet saying it all went well.
When you pick her up she will still be drowsy and clumsy for a while due to meds, so let her sleep it off in the most cozy quiet place possible.
Vets seem to offer pain meds as an option. Definitely take them just in case she seems uncomfortable later in the night, like if she is trembling or whining. It will also help her sleep. Since she is so tiny, double check the dose with the vet for her weight. My vet sent me home with liquid pain med, pre-measured in a syringe for each of my girls, so no guessing at the amount.
My girls all did fine, and I was amazed at how normal they were acting 2 days later. I really had to watch them so they wouldn't try to jump up on the couch, and I carried them up and down stairs.
Give us updates and come here for support. It's gonna be a tough day, but you'll make it and be relieved to have her home soon. Good luck Ahi! |
