Don't be afraid!! Be as calm as possible, because if you drop Zachary off a nervous wreck, he's going to fear the groomer. He'll probably still be nervous, but at least he is familiar with being brushed and bathed, so that should feel familiar and comfortable to him.
I am the OP of this thread, I was getting my dog's first haircut. I told them not to the touch her topknot, and shave the rest. They shaped her face up a little too. When I picked her up, I expected to hate it, and they carried her out from the back...and she was SOOOO CUTE! I actually loved it! You're right, her puppy coat was gone for good, but I'm glad. It matted so easily, she was miserable. She came out gleaming and looked so happy. Wearing clothes is great now, no mats. Her hair is starting to grow out again now.
Remember, if you hate it...its just hair, and it grows back. Yeah hes gonna look like a different dog at first, but then it'll be like that's how he was supposed to look from the start. Oh, and the hair underneath is so silky...all I could do at first was pet her over and over lol! She went from black and tan puppy to blue and gold beauty! |
