What other options are there?
There are always the 'odd' times, hopefully few and far between, when we have to have some sort of care sorted out for our Littlies...weddings, funerals etc etc - when everybody that we love and trust is at 'the event'.

What I personally did was advertise for a 'Pet Sitter - in their own home'. I put ads in my Vets office etc, and then interviewed people with Harry....loads of them. Took up references (personally), went to their homes, watched how they interacted - they HAD to get on like a house on fire, or it just wouldn't have happened.

And it had to be one-on-one - or with a dog that I knew, and trusted with our 'little' boy! We found someone, a wonderful woman who used to run a Dog Shelter in Goa, who is also an assessor for a Dog Charity 'over here'.

All this organization and thought really came into place when Andy had a huge heart scare last year - there was absolutely no-one around to help...but she did - collected Harry, kept him as long as we needed, brought him home as and when....an angel.

She allowed me to concentrate my thoughts on getting Andy well again. I wonder if that sort of thing might work for you? I really wish you all the very best for you ALL! Sally + Harry x
