For chewing, someone here told me (can't remember who, this was almost 6 years ago ) to use a stick of cheap men's deodorant on any items that were being chewed. It WORKED and it did not damage the finish on the wood. Izzy was an aggressive chewer and she actually liked the bitter apple spray:eek:

Wishing you luck! I know someone here will have a better answer for your ex pen dilemma
You can also get the smallest blue tarp...it too has grommets on one side that the zip ties can go thru...it is heavier than a shower curtain, and may stand up better. I sprayed that bitter apple crap on my rattaan (sp) furniture....expensive set....and while the dogs stopped chewing, the bitter apple RUINED THE FINISH!!!!!!!! SO I WOULD NOT PUT ANYTHING ON MY GOOD, EXPENSIVE FURNITURE!! Good luck!!!
