I massage it into Uni's skin like for lotion. I do give it to her orally as a treat and to hide her pills. I have not noticed a difference, and supposedly when you cook with it instead of all regular oil you are supposed to lose weight. Again I have not noticed anything. =/
I do use it on her paws and on mine. It does work that way, but I guess lotion would too.
