Hi my name is Christy and my husband and I run a very small kennel for the American Bully, I am the kennel manger for a large boarding/grooming kennel here in NC and have wanted a Yorkie for over 15 years.
A client came in and was having a litter and offered me a pup since I love theirs so much and take extra good care of their dogs while boarding or grooming. I was not suppose to get her until next month but the breeders brother passed away and they wanted to know if I could come pick her up this past Sat she is 6 weeks old today.
I have bred large breed dogs for over 25 years but have never had a small breed dog. Yanna is the size of a new born Bully pup and she is just 6 weeks. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. The breeder had her on Purina puppy food and I did not want to do a total change so I got a bag of that and a bag of Innova puppy food (because that is what we feed the Bully pups) and I am mixing it for her. She is having a hard time eating it dry so I am soaking it and I also got a tube of puppy nutra cal to give her a few times a day.
We have a Vet on site where I work and I am having him give her a check up first thing in the morning when I get into work. I have to admit I am a little nervous about a puppy this small, I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. I hate that she had to leave here litter so soon but I understand the reasons. I have a wonderful Bully age 11 who is wonderful at socializing all my pups and once she is fully vaccinated I can let her play with the Bosses Cairn pups that are the same age.
I have a new crate set up for her here at home and work with lots of fluffy blankets, potty pads, bowls, bows (lol) and toys Any suggestions and advice would be awesome =) I look forward to being part of the forum ...here is a pic of Yanna
