When my baby was really sick, the vet put her on Hill Prescription Diet Canine i/d. It is a bland soft dog food. I keep a can of this handy at all times for when Gracie gets sick. It is specially made for dogs that are sick and require a bland diet. You should be able to get some from you vet, I have never seen it sold in stores. The only thing that alarmed me with this food is that Gracie hardly drank any water when she ate this food, the vet explained that this specific food has alot of water in it to hydrate them and to keep them from dehydrating when sick (the first ingredient is water). I found that giving her this dog food, when sick, is alot easier then cooking bland chicken and rice, and it is fordified with good vitamins to help her get better quicker. Good luck to you! (By the way, nutracal is a paste that you give dogs to give them a "energy boost", it is fulled with vitimans and minerials, highly suggest you keep a tube handy at all times, you can get it at any pet shop) |
