I'm not for dog abuse and this is why i felt so bad, even know the hitting wasn't hard, and even enought to be called abuse i still felt horrible for doing it. im pretty sure almost everyone hits there dogs from time to time to get them to stop. |
I could have cried when I read this...."it didn't leave a mark, and she didn't cry or anything
during it" - can you imagine? There she is, still loving you and following you round? My goodness, these little babies are so loyal and trusting with all the love in the world to give - she's so tiny....
I would suggest, as you don't bath her that often, that you save up and GO to a professional groomer once a month or so.
And
no, I have
never hit my children - and I
certainly wouldn't dream of hitting Harry - a larger Yorkie but who is still only a speck in comparison to me....
And again -
no,
everyone doesn't hit there dogs from time to time to get them to stop. My hands are actually shaking as I'm typing this....

It took time to build up their confidence. Sounds like you have some troubles of your own. It's good to hear your wee girl is a comfort to you too. Great idea putting timers on your phone. I use mine too to remind me to give mess and stuff. Good luck and don't give up. You are both worth the effort. |
That's exactly what I do too Eileen, while it's still soft I pick it out with my fingers or some damp cotton wool a couple of times a day, it keeps it 'down'

I've actually got Andy doing it, too!!
