My parents are currently having this issue with their new puppy. He is not liking his crate at all. He has gotten better with his playpen but the crate....oh lord you would think something was in the crate with him trying to kill him. One of my good friends who's a certified trainer came to our house yesterday and suggested getting some kong toys, filling them with something yummy such as peanut butter, carrots, apples, etc., basically healthy things, freezing it and then offering it to him at night when he goes in his crate. The key to it though is that he ONLY gets that special treat anytime he's going in his crate, that way he thinks of his crate as a happy place. My mom said last night he was quiet when she put him in the crate with the kong so we'll see how this continues to go!
