I am new but I have been reading (and learning) for over about a month. I wanted to thank everyone involved in creating and keeping YorkieTalk going. With this site, I learned that my Puddles should have stayed with mom & siblings at least another month and I needed to find another vet who really cares. I learned so much reading the advice given to others with some of the same problems my Puddles has had with blood sugar lows. After 4 bad lows, I found this site. It probably saved her life because the vet I used and the vet from the animal ER really didn't know that Puddles needed to be fed, even if you had to force feed, every 3 hours - Blood sugar would not let her go 4. I went back to the vet I used years ago before I moved. It is worth the drive. After some food trials, we found one that Puddles will eat and she is finally thriving. In the last 2 weeks, she has gained 5 ounces. She is now 13 1/2 weeks old and weighs 1lb 7 ounces. We hope to reach that magic 2 pounds soon! Thanks to everyone for this sight - YOU ALL ROCK!!! |
