I would say try to stay away from processed foods as much as you can. Keep meals simple but full of flavor. Gee...there are so many great web sites for recipes you can't lack for inspiration.
Frozen fruits for healthy smoothies, dry bean with rice to other sides make really inexpensive meals. I have been making a bean soup..sometime green pea, lentils, 15 bean soup etc once a week.
I use recipes on the back of Lipton soup mixes..the garlic chicken is great. Other brands such as korr have good ones to..chicken with leek sauce comes to mind.
Also I like salads as sides..full of veggies.
Oh..and homemade pizza is always Good and a lot healthier. I teach food production and do units on healthy eating so I could go on for days..sorry
