My second boy, Maxie, was 4.5 # at 15 months...I thought he was probably full grown... but at 2 1/2 now, he weighs 6 #, and the additional weight is mostly muscle. He had been kept kenneled.. his little legs were almost bird like. But he runs in the yard and play fights with my 4 year old Yorkie, and he's strong as an ox now. Your baby will probably be on the larger side. Marley weighs in now at 9.5 # after rescuing him at age 2 at 7#. He's not fat at all... (well, maybe a little). It looks like they gain significant muscle mass at 2+ years old as they mature. Consistent 1 mile walks with correctly clipped nails will keep him at appropriate weight -- whatever that is. Marley walks a mile in the morning and again in the evening. Maxie holds out for the outbound walk, but then whines to be carried home.
