Sorry, couldn't resist. This is Tatum's "sister" Stormie. I've talked about her before on here. She's SUCH a maternal gal. She's had two litters, most all being placed in trialing/herding families (a couple even in Germany). I always knew she would be the most maternal dog and now I can see that maybe she misses having babies around. Yesterday my daughter came home to find her laying in the yard with "something". She was almost afraid to go see what it was. What she found was Stormie cudding with a baby bunny. The bunny seemed to not be afraid of her AT ALL. When my daughter went to pick it up and hold it Stormie let her hold it for only a few seconds and then gently grabbed it by the scruff of it's neck and laid it back down with her. They cuddled that way for quite some time before the bunny went back to mommy I guess. I have more pics where the bunny is tucked in around Stormie's belly. These pics were just too sweet not to share. NO WAY would we have dared to let Tatum try to play with it! She's great with our baby kitty but I think a bunny would be pushing the limits. Isn't she just the sweetest mommy??
Oh, and excuse her highness' filthiness... we had just had a nice storm and the Aussies LOVE playing in the rain (and of course there's mud involved!).
