Oh, ho, my Tibbe sure has his own mind & back-talks me all the way in sometimes but he comes on in - just a little slower and snorting & barking at me for stopping his fun outside. He's a big talker - but he usually does what I have asked - just tells me if he's not happy about it.
Just put a container with a few pieces of boiled chicken in it & see how fast your little guy will come when called, if he slows down too much. I occasionally have to refresh Tibbe's recall training to get him coming on the run. Using a high-value treat for a day or two during recall training refreshing works wonders.
