Sometimes they can have an elevated lipase and it means nothing. I have had that happen a few times. Totally healthy and take them in for a yearly and that it is elevated. My vet is never alarmed by it...and I have found that if a repeat is done, it is normal.
You really cannot always go by labs....it often has to be a combination of things. That's why it is so important not to get too upset about labs and it is often why many vets and doctors will not allow their staff to release labs to clients (they prefer to speak with the clients themselves)...it takes objective and subjective information to come up with a diagnosis. Better to leave diagnosiing to the pros.
