 Let's talk RICE
Growing up in the south we ate plain ole white rice. Depending upon how well you could cook it, it was either sticky or fluffy. Since my hubby doesn't particularly like rice, I haven't served much in the past 30+ years. I was still of the opinion that you went to the store and bought Uncle Ben's parboiled rice 'cause it always cooked up fluffy. Hard to mess up Uncle Bens. Occasionally I'd cook brown rice or wild rice (which I understand isn't really rice at all.
Recently Peachbongi introduced me to Jasmine rice and WOW is it yummy. Nothing like the rice my mom used to cook. Now I find myself checking the store shelves for new kinds of rice. My latest find was black rice also known as purple rice. It is YUMMY in all caps!
