My sweet foster, Summer, did not eat yesterday afternoon. She was acting a bit funny later in the evening...tucking her tail and was a bit shaky when I would pet her. She did play a bit with Armani, so I figured I would wait until this morning to see how she was. Well, she did not even look at her food this morning...no physical symptoms such as vomiting and/or diarrhea; but I just was not comfortable and took her into the vet.
Her lipase was over 4,000 and her belly was tense, so she is on IV fluids for today and probably at least 2 more days. They also gave her Bupranex for pain. Poor baby.
Similar to what BabyGirlRosie posted recently, I am posting this to remind people that it is good to know your pups and get them in quickly when they are out of kilter. If I had waited until she had more symptoms Heaven only knows how bad she could have gotten.
