Zachary was car sick the first few times also. Then we got him a cheap little car seat by Outward Hound. We lined it with a soft quilt and he just lays down in it and either sleeps or puts his head on the edge and chills.
When he threw up, my husband was holding him and he kept getting moved around. That may have been the problem. I drive a Chevy Silverado PU so my vehicle doesn't ride smoothly either.
Regardless, he is very relaxed in his cheap little seat and rides just find now. Good luck!!!
