Oh, Kiki, if you are getting mad at her during training, that explains a lot about her lack of response to your training attempts since your last round of posts. Unless you can hold your emotions totally in check & make training fun for a dog, they will just tune you out & hate the whole process. I totally understand that they can make you want to bang your head against a cement wall at times but you just can't let them know that you feel that way. If I began to lose patience, even a little bit, I just go ahead & stop the session & walk away after a little playtime with a dog. You always need to end training sessions with fun time.

If she thinks she is the boss, that is probably because you haven't established a true leadership role with her & gained her trust. Patient, gentle & loving training of a dog with positive reinforcement of everything they do right when training will help to establish that you are boss & trust will start to build. To complete establishing a healthy leader/follower partnership team, begin the Nothing In Life Is Free method of establishing leader/follower roles. You can type in those words with the word "training" on Google & read about how to do it. It's really easy but it takes persistence. You have to keep it up until the dog begins to accept you as their leader so that they listen to you & do what you say 99% of the time.

Truly, if she is a normal dog & doesn't have brain damage/learning disability, she can & will learn basic obedience, as long as you make it fun, short & rewarding for her. If she is normal, you are the one who has to learn how to train her. And if she is not responding to you, is misbehaving & is a normal dog - guess whose fault that is - dog or human? You just need to learn & stick to proper training methods, most especially with a dog who tries to be "boss" or is "hard headed".

What books have you read so far about training?
